In this course there is a specific focus on the application of reflexology on the hand and foot for clients with sciatic nerve pain. The etiology, evaluation, and treatment of sciatic nerve pain will be covered in depth. Theories of reflexology from a holistic perspective will be introduced for consideration. The hologram of the body as encountered on the hand and foot will be explored. PRESENTERS: Master Helen Whysong CR, MR, LMT, NBCR Guest Instructor: Nancy Beauchamp Reflexologist, RN - graduate of UW-Madison in Social Welfare and UW-Milwaukee in Nursing. She has practiced nursing for almost 30 years. She is board certified in Reflexology and Integrative Imagery through American Holistic Nurses Association. She utilizes the Electro Photonics Camera to measure emotional and physical energy at the cellular level. This course provides an in-depth look at theories and technique guidelines for hand reflexology, including energy principles, Asian meridian approach, Polarity Five Element theory and application, and Korean hand reflexology. Plus, an in-depth look at emotions and their association with organ systems and disease processes. Expanded information on documentation and the use of SOAPIER format for charting. Whysong reflexology hand techniques and a comprehensive protocol for a holistic approach to client wellness and education will be presented. In this course there is a specific focus on the application of reflexology on the foot, hand and body for clients with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. The anatomy and pathophysiology of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), cause, and treatment of CTS will be covered in depth. Specific treatment considerations and reflexology applications for CTS based on five element and meridian theories will be presented. Whysong Reflexology whole–body techniques and a comprehensive protocol will be demonstrated for a holistic approach to carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS).
